- Your shins should remain in very light contact with the
tongues of your boots. This contact will shift slightly from one side of the
tongue of the boot to the other side, as you go through your turns.
- Keep your upper body facing slightly down the hill.
Make long radius turns.
Flex the outside leg to absorb pressure buildup at the end
of the turn and just as you cross the flow line, lift your uphill ski fairly
high and stomp it down by extending that leg--continue extending the
"stomped" leg and steer it into the flow line. Steer both skis through
the turn and flex to absorb pressure. Then do it again with the other ski.
Progressively tone down the stomp, until you are gently
placing the uphill ski onto its inside edge and extending away from it down the
hill.
- Apply the assertive extension to your normal skiing and
your turn initiation will flow better.
