Most areas offer race training clinics to help you get ready for your first attempt at running gates.

If you've played Chase the leader--see the previous exercise, running gates should not be a big step.

First, just try to go around the gates without "racing." This alone will greatly aid in your skill development.

  • The more you do it, the easier it gets.
  • Because racing enhances your ability to change direction upon command, it's great for moguls.
