While turning, focus on the tip of the
downhill ski.
At the finish of a turn (when your skis point across the
hill,) brush the tip of your downhill ski down the hill and continue to roll it
down the hill. As the ski rolls toward the flow line, swing the pole down the
flow line.
Continue rolling this inside ski and shaping the turn with
the tips.
- Maintain contact between your shins and the tongues of
the boots--stay in the Sweet spot.
At the end of the turn, drive the downhill ski forward and
swing the downhill pole toward the inside of the turn--roughly down the flow
line. Release and lighten the downhill ski and brush its tip down the hill,
together with the pole swing.
Touch the pole and continue to shape the turn, rolling the
tip into the hill. Flex your knees and ankles to absorb any building pressure.
Move from turn to turn, focusing on releasing the downhill
ski, directing the tip to shape the turn and extending off the uphill ski into
the turn.
- Connect the pole action with the movements of the legs to
help flow from turn to turn.
