Skiing faster is not a prerequisite, so do not ski beyond your comfort level!

When your skis are stationary or moving slowly, it takes a lot of effort to turn them--the skis are "stuck" in the snow. However, as soon as you start to move faster, it becomes almost magically easy to turn them.

Try to pick up the pace just slightly, but always stay in complete control and don't frighten yourself. You'll quickly find that at a slightly higher speed, your skis turn much more easily--and come together parallel almost automatically.

  • Scared to go faster? Try easier terrain, where you'll be more comfortable to open the taps.

Do this on varying terrain and experiment with speed changes.
