On groomed terrain, link short straight runs (straight down the hill) with skidded side slips.

Keep pressure on both skis as you do a straight run down the flow line.

Using a pivoting move, turn your skis across the hill--let them slip sideways for a short distance, before straightening them out again into a short straight run. Keep your upper body facing straight down the flow line!

Do another short straight run and another pivot and skid. Continue linking these skids with short straight runs.

  • Remember the feeling of adding a very short straight run in-between pivoted skid--you want to use this exact skill in the moguls.
  • Keep your upper body facing straight down the hill at all times.
  • Keep equal pressure on your skis.
