- Be careful of other skiers.
Choose a "director."
The director goes down a section of slope and
places her ski poles 15 to 20 feet apart and stands between them. The poles mark
the outside of two imaginary corridors--one on each side of the director.
The idea is that you must ski within one of the
corridors--which one is determined by the director.
Begin with short turns in one corridor and watch
the director for a signal to switch to the other corridor. When the director
gives the signal, switch quickly to the other corridor.
Tips:
- When switching corridors, try not to lose
rhythm or waste too much of the run.
- Keep your eyes on the director.
- Try to make clean, concise turns and continue
to do so as you switch from corridor to corridor.
Alter this game by assigning a different task for
each corridor, like: No poles; hop turns; pivoting in the flow line; edge to
edge with little shape or slow round turns; one ski turns, etc.
