Begin with your skis
pointed diagonally across the hill. Pick a target in that same line.
Start a diagonal traverse in the direction of the target. Quickly pivot the skis across the flow line (get the downhill ski out of the way rapidly) and slip sideways towards the target. Keep side-slipping with your body facing down the hill. Slip for a moment in that direction, then roll the downhill ski onto edge, but rolling your your ankle and knee into the hill. Almost come to a stop and you should feel the ski slice. Then pivot the skis to point in the other direction and slip diagonally toward a new target. Again roll the downhill ski into the hill and onto an edge. It will bite and begin a slice. Add to the power with the outside/downhill hand driving forward. Print this out for future
reference and remember to have fun! |
