  • Use one-ski skiing to center yourself and utilize the turning mechanics of the leg for turns in both directions.

A turn in one direction will use a different set of muscles than a turn in the other direction.

Try this exercise for agility and maintaining balance. You really have to rely on your center of mass to help you balance internally. It's important not to balance with your equipment.

Start gliding straight down the flow line while standing on one ski.

Hop to the other ski and glide on it.

Then, hop from one ski to the other, trying to land in the same line.

When you look back at your track, you should only see a single, narrow track down the flow line.

  • Use only your ankles and legs to hop.
  • Keep the lifted ski parallel to the snow surface (tip and tail at the same distance from the snow.)
  • Keep your head always lined up with the flow line.
  • Try this across the flow line, too.

Print this out for future reference and remember to have fun!
