- This is a bit complicated, but well worth practicing. Do it correctly and
it will do wonders for your skiing.
Try this exercise first on flat snow, then start slowly in a traverse.
Lift the uphill ski off of the snow and point it into a wedged relationship
to the other ski.
As you wedge the ski, twist your upper body to face that lifted ski. When the
ski is completely wedged and the body is twisted to face it, set the ski down on
its edge and ride it around in a turn.
At the point of transition from one turn to the next when you cross the flow
line, twist your upper body to face the uphill wedging ski. Again, when
completely countered, set the ski down on its edge and feel a powerful slice
through the turn.
- Once you've licked it, tone down the twisting and wedging gradually, until
you make normal turns.
