If you feel like an out-of-control banshee, here are a few tips to bring your skiing under control.
- Make sure the terrain you're on is not too steep--find something more manageable.
- Remove some of the fear by going to a slope that has a natural
run-out at the bottom.
- Stay in one turn until you slow down or stop--you'll almost face uphill at this point.
- Consider taking a lesson.
- If all else fails, make a very big wedge or simply sit down on the uphill side of both skis.
